FC Samartex 1996 General Manager Edmund Ackah has vowed to resign from his position if the club is found to be involved in match-fixing or any illegal activity. Ackah made the declaration amid concerns over reports linking the club to match manipulation and the absence of several of their matches from television coverage. Speaking in an interview with Asempa FM, the experienced football administrator said he had confidence in the club’s leadership and management. “I will resign from FC Samartex if the club engages in anything illegal or match-fixing,” he stated. “I have heard that our games are not on television because of where we are located and the distance, but that is not fair,” he added. “Our stadium is safe because there are CCTV cameras everywhere, so I don’t know why there will be that decision not to air our games.” The 2024 Ghana Premier League champions currently sit third on the league table. Matchday nine will see Samartex hosts Bibiani Gold Stars at the Nsenkyire Sports Arena on Sunday November 1.
