The National Director of Public Prosecutions (NDPP), Andy Mothibi, says they are dealing with the credibility and leadership of the Investigative Directorate Against Corruption (IDAC). This comes after a comprehensive institutional reset and review of IDAC cases was launched, alongside establishing its independent Ombud office to probe complaints of maladministration or abuse of power. Mothibi says to date they reviewed about 20 cases that are on IDAC’s books. He says, “There is a research project that we are busy with at IDAC, that research Project, including dealing with the credibility and, you know, the leadership. We now have the acting head of IDAC, Adv. (Ntuthuzelo) Vanara, a very credible man.” “Already he’s immersed in the research project. We have up to now reviewed almost about 20 cases that are on IDAC books. There’s only about three that have been found really to be, you know, not well taken on.” Mothibi adds, “General (Fannie) Masemola’s case is one of them, General (Dumisani) Khumalo and the others, and then now we’re looking at the other cases, but there are few, but they actually served a huge damage.” RELATED VIDEO |IDAC and crime intelligence former officials arrested:
